Snob Theater is back with another glorious line-up of genuine indie music and alternative stand-up comedy. In case you’re not familiar with Snob Theater, Snob Theater is a one of a kind show that combines performances by today’s best in indie rock with equally feted stand-up comedians. Originating at San Francisco’s Dark Room Theater, Snob Theater creates a magnet for smart and entertaining performances and provides a unique and exciting atmosphere for the lucky audience. Produced and hosted by comedian/music blogger Shawn Robbins (ME!), Snob Theater showcases the comfort of the performers as they take chances in a stripped-down setting.
Performing at this month’s edition of Snob Theater are comedians Donny Divanian, Kelly McCarron, Casey Ley, and Conrad Roth. Joining them will be the catchy and charming Foolproof Four and mega ensemble rock-orchestral act, The Family Crest.
Foolproof Four
First up will be the Bay Area’s folk-rock darling duo, Foolproof Four. The group’s LP debut, Apples of Our Allegiance, offers a fun side of sly Americana. Their high energy is finally captured on tape and released only through your own speakers (or headphones…whatever). Simple folk-song structures and harmonies are “rockified” by foot tapping beats and palpable optimism. The two young musicians, guitarist Noah Grant and percussionist Dan Brennan, have recorded the album that exemplifies their trademark tongue-in-cheek satirist folk-pop spirit and makes sure the listener knows what to expect once they witness it live.

The Family Crest
With The Village, The Family Crest (voted “Best Band” from The Deli-SF’s Best of 2010 Fan Poll ) have crafted a vibrant collection of stadium-sized anthems and reflective ballads, unified by soaring melodies, lush arrangements, and singer/guitarist Liam McCormick’s persuasively personal lyricism. Intricately orchestrated songs like North and Got Soul are animated by a dramatic sonic scope, thanks to the ensemble’s remarkable communal instrumentation conveying an ardent yearning for emotional release. Such exuberant and evocative music invites a powerful kinship between the band and its audience, a bond which only serves to stir the Bay Area-based collective’s creative spirit. Join the family.
