It’s that time…Snob Theater time! Yup, Snob Theater at The Dark Room Theater returns July 29th and we’ve got a whole new batch of performers for you to experience!
In case you’re not familiar with the show; Snob Theater combines the efforts of the Bay Area’s finest indie rock bands and stand-up comedians into one fun-filled variety show. The small 60+ seat Dark Room Theater makes for the most intimate of performances and provides a unique and exciting atmosphere for both the audience and the performing artists. Snob Theater is an event that showcases the comfort of the performers as they take chances in a stripped-down setting.
Friday, July 29th at 10PM it’ll be the witty and lovely melodies of Hate Factory and the whimsical folk nature of Michael Musika. And as usual we will be hosting a whole new batch of the Bay Area’s best in stand-up comedy with Joe Tobin, Cory Loykasek, Greg Edwards, and Marcella Arguello.
Hate Factory
the owl magazine presents: HATE FACTORY in Boudoir Sessions from ryan castañeda on Vimeo.
Katelyn Sullivan and Sierra Frost aka Hate Factory and their ukulele/guitar based tunes are alone worth checking out. However, that’s not all they have to offer. Add sharp-witted lyrics, gleeful harmonies, and a desire for good times and you have a special kind of act that provides the kind of music only the Bay Area could manifest. Their latest EP, Tecatepocalypse is a truth-rocket to the heart and brain, mixed with wry humor and just the kind of bite we here at Snob Theater look for. We might even request them to sing the Portal Theme (you know the one).
So witness the duo in all their glory at Snob Theater Friday, July 29th.
Michael Musika
Michael Musika @ Chasing The Moon 6.07.09 from Scott McDowell on Vimeo.
Michael Musika is a musician, writer, performer and teacher living and working in San Francisco. His debut effort, Spells was written from September 2008 through March of 2011 and was spawned by the unusual story of Michael being stranded on the side of a road in Colorado, when a coyote approached him and told him a story. The result? A folk-tatsic and heavily layered piece of art that twists and turns down the mind of a peaceful and humble musician. Michael is one of a kind, and we here at Snob Theater are proud to host this timid and playful artist.

So come out, invite friends, and spread the word. It’s going to be a good night.
