It’s our seventh Snob Theater and yet again we celebrate another special evening of amazing music and stand-up comedy. In case you’re not familiar with Snob Theater, Snob Theater is a show that features the best in the Bay Area’s indie rock bands and stand-up comedians. The small 60+ seat Dark Room Theater makes for the most intimate of performances and provides a unique and exciting atmosphere. Snob Theater is an event that showcases the comfort of the performers as they take chances in a stripped-down setting.

Our musical guests this month include Emily Jane White and The Northern Key.

The Northern Key brings narrative detail and a wide range of emotion to an indie meld of ’60s-chamber string moods and folk-pop. Lead singer Andrew Galluccio’s melodic and arrangement of senses give his vulnerable vocals and brilliant wordcraft the maximum effectiveness. Since releasing their honest and disarmingly melodic self titled debut, the band has opened for Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros and The Clientele, performed at Noise Pop Festival, and received a very positive response from the Bay Area music community. We’re pleased to feature this talented and delicate group at this month’s Snob Theater.

On her third album (Ode To Sentience, out Nov. 8th), the San Francisco based folk/songwriter-cum-moody chanteuse Emily Jane White once again creates her austere emotional soundscapes, empathizing on the complexities of human relationships. Emily Jane White has a very definite, but distorted, view that makes you feel she’s describing events as they come into play, but she sings and writes with such disengagement, you wonder where her story ends and her pragmatic skills kick in. Somewhat of a staple in Bay Area based dark and melancholy singer-songwriters, Emily Jane White will grace the stage of Snob Theater just before she heads off to Europe to tour the new album. Come witness the magic if you can.

This month’s stand-up comedians include Jesse Elias, Edwin Li (SF Punchline regular), Caitlin Gill (SF Punchline, the Purple Onion, 12 Galaxies), and Chris Thayer (The Purple Onion, Club Deluxe, Hemlock Tavern opening for the likes of Reggie Watts, Rick Shapiro, Tim & Eric and Neil Hamburger).

So come out, invite friends, and spread the word. It’s going to be a good night.
