Birdmonster have been one of the star players in the indie rock movement in the Bay Area. Peter Arcuni’s energetic vocals and the band’s growth from post-punk fortitude to indie folk catchiness is a treat for anyone listening to their collection of impressive records. While 2006′s No Midnight is my favorite, last year’s Blood Memory highlights the band’s versatility the genre of folk rock, solidifying Birdmonster as one of the better bands to come out of San Francisco.

Oakland singer songwriter Dave Smallen is a soft-spoken and kind young man that has delicatly entered into the Bay Area indie music scene. Smallen writes graceful, understated, human, unpretentious songs, demonstrating that simplicity is still a viable option for accomplished songwriters. His latest release, Everything Changes And Nothing Changes is a passionate, stripped down, and mostly acoustic reflection on moments from his current life; showing us where he is, where he has just come from, and where he is going.
