Has an artist these days ever been so astonishing? In her first year, this electropop goddess named Ke$ha went from unknown LA sonwriter to the world’s biggest pop star this side of Britney Spears. Ke$ha’s brand of pop is shamelessly brash singing about money, celebrity, sex, clubbing, or a sticky combination of all four. It’s insipid subject matter, unless you consider Ke$ha as less of a silly, manufactured blonde than an ingenious artist playing the part of a glitzy pop star. Witness Ke$ha’s impeccably sleek opening songs, from the carelessly rambling chorus of Tik Tok to the snappy, futuristic beat of Blah Blah Blah: Ke$ha’s got the creativity and utter pop sensability in ways that most other Top 40 tunes do not. Often compared to the brilliance of Uffie’s lyrical genius, Ke$ha’s vocals are in fact more meaningful and honest, allowing her a certain stylistic versatility, and her personae alternate from wild party kid to vulnerable lover. For instance, when she sings, “Everybody getting crunk (crunk), boys try to touch my junk (junk), Gonna smack em if they gettin’ too drunk (drunk),” she’s saying that she’s not going to take a man’s chauvinistic disrespect toward women. She’s saying she’s a strong woman and than she’s willing to squash those party girl stereotypes. Her risks always pay off, making her a strong force in the world of pop music. She is intense and superb enough to ensure that she’ll be basking in our attention for a very long time. Thank God.
This week he have the distinct honor of having Ke$ha answer a special edition Kuesitonnaire. Oh and go buy here album Animal .
(Yes, this was an April Fools joke)
________
1. Could you state your name and what you do in the band?
Ke$ha, I rap and sing shit
2. How would you describe your sound?
I don’t like to classify my sound cuz it’s so unique and shit. But I guess it’s like a combo of Madonna and Radiohead and Queen and Aaron Neville.
3. What is your favorite local band?
I think of local like, you’re from this earth right? So ‘local’ is like, from where you are. So I like bands that are here. I don’t know, I like Beastie Boys.
4. Any concerts that blew your mind recently?
i saw my cousin play at a school concert recently. It was Soooooooo cute. I only passed out through the last half which means I liked it.
5. Any non-musical influences you would like to mention?
You mean like my dog?!?! He’s so funny when he runs around and chases bugs around. he just fucking chases them for hours until he can’t and he’s sooooo tired and then he drinks water and naps for hours! Wait what was the question again?
6. If your music was to be the theme of a film/TV show, what would it be?
oh totally the new Alice in Wonderland! I think my music is from another world too sometimes.
7. What musician/artist would you like to collaborate with for a day?
Is Grey Goose a musician? Can I pick that? We usually come up with some good shit. So yeah, that.
8. What is the album you listen to on a cold rainy day?
I don’t know if you’ve been to LA or not but it never rains here. Maybe like, once a year or something. But it rained here a lot recently, so I guess I listened to the radio and Crash Test Dummies was on. So can I say Crash Test Dummies?
9. List four songs you would listen to on a roadtrip?
I’ll tell you what I listen to on an ‘acidtrip’…
Lady GaGa – Bad Romance

The Middle East – Blood
10. Where do you see yourselves in 7 years?
30 yrs old still doing what I love…..DRUGS!
11. What is the last book you read?
Does People magazine count?
12. Is image a factor in music or is it a waste of time?
Style is definitely not unique and can not be used when judging someone. Basically my entire life I have seen the same exact woman walking the streets of my town, day and night, summer or winter in the same exact clothes. If we can’t see past appearance then judging can be a tremendous error. My music transcends that. I’m just doing what I love and loving what I do. My style is my own and I strut my shit the same as anyone else. Did I answer that right? Can I have Grey Goose now?
13. Any embarrassing moments on stage you would like to share?
Once I grinded a guy on stage who turned out to be a second cousin. That was awkward. I think I blew him too later. That was awkward too.
14. Any favorite tour locations?
Where ever the boyz are!!!! WOOOOO!!! YEAHHH!!!!!
No really, I’m lonely.
15. Lastly, what is your present state of mind?
Cool. I’m cool. Or maybe I’m just ready for the next day, ya know? Ready for what happens next in my life. I love what I do and do what I love and what love I do and Do love what I and I do love what……oh man did I fail?
