If you’re not already familiar with Surfer Blood, now’s a good time to immerse yourself in the breezy indie pop flavor that is Surfer Blood. I may have missed them several times at SXSW (I honestly don’t know how, they played like 12 shows), but I will not be missing their free show at Amoeba today at 6pm. Get there early and check out one of the better bands out there right now. Also try and catch them at the Bottom of the Hill tomorrow with Turbo Fruits, and Ganglians while Bagel Radio DJs.

Oakland’s whimsical and infectiously catchy Man/Miracle are finding themselves in a good spot. With their recent album The Shape of Things and their successful SXSW shows already making a buzz, it’s going to be obvious that this band will see much more fortune in the near future. They are now preparing to hit the road for the rest of April with our own Rogue Wave as well as a new split entitled with fellow Bay Area dance-rockers Butterfly Bones. Both groups are celebrating with a release party tonight hosted by Epicsause at The Milk Bar in San Francisco. So after you see Surfer Blood at Ameoba today, it’s going to be an easy decision to walk next door to see some of the finest in Bay Area music.
