I can’t even begin to tell you what Mark Kozelek is all about. His time with Red House Painters in 1989, relocating to San Francisco, breaking up with Red House Painters in 2001, dropping his debut solo album, Rock’n'Roll Singer EP, a collection of covers, Ghosts of the Great Highway (one of my favorite albums) as Sun Kil Moon (featuring Koutsos). Listening to Kozelek you can hear his deft touch with words and melody; one that allows him to turn out stories about love, loss, faith, or the lack of it that are at once personal and universal, set to music that is sweetly haunting and timeless. As far as I know tickets are still available, so snag some before they disappear. This is going to be a special night.
