Norway clears the table of last year’s headphone masterpiece, Devotion, and makes way for a record that may put Beach House on the map as one of the most important bands of 2010. The Norway single will be released on 7” on Monday 11th January 2010 and will be backed with an exclusive track titled, Baby.

new album, A Collection of Sounds and Something Like the Plague, was released the 24th of November through Amble Down Records. But their EP, A Family. A Tree. is available online completely free right here. It’s a very soft spoken style that goes just past street performer innocence and almost enough for the soundtrack to a damp and cloudy Mid-Western day. Using a portable laptop / mic system in order to capture sounds of the city for the record, the album and EP capture more than the city of Minneapolis, but the essence of loneliness and isolation.
