After researching them due to their involvement in opening for acts like The Album Leaf, dredg, and Busdriver; El Paso, Texas’ Zechs Marquise has colored me impressed with their progressive indie-rock instrumentals and spastic live performances. Featuring multi-instrumentalist Marcel Rodriguez-Lopez (who also plays in The Mars Volta) and bassist Marfred Rodriguez-Lopez, both siblings to legendary guitarist Omar Rodriguez-Lopez, the band obviously resembles The Mars Volta’s signature expensive tunes with experimental guitar work. Their 15-track debut album Our Delicate Stranded Nightmare was released August 25th through Rodriguez Lopez Productions and has received much attention from the progressive rock fan base.
