Tonight! Sonic Youth and Awesome Color at the gorgeous Fox Theater in Oakland! At the Great American Music hall we have Deerhoof and Abe Vigoda, Japandroids hit up the Hemlock Tavern, and the crusty Beach Boys play the Mountain Winery in Saratoga.
Monday, the lovely Bowerbirds and Megafaun swing by Café du Nord, and the mighty Sonic Youth and Sic Alps rock the Independent.
Tuesday alt-country giants John Doe & The Sadies come to the Great American Music Hall and Elizabeth and The Catapult hit up with Evening Empire Café du Nord. Evening Empire will be there for their The Ocean in Films EP release show. Come out and celebrate.
Wednesday…meh.
Thursday however has Harlem, White Music, and The Pleasure Kills at the Rickshaw Stop! If you’re going to one show this week, this is the show t go to. Harlem is probably one of the most buzzed about acts since signing to Matador records. Check’em out.
Friday, Frank Black is playing Hotel Utah as Black Francis. You might not get tickets, but it’s worth a shot (correction: Friday sold out, Saturday still on sale). Underworld will be at the Fox Theater in Oakland, Portland based electro act YACHT hits up the Rickshaw Stop,
Stomacher and The Frail play Slims and psychedelic rockers The Gris Gris and Spindrift crash The Great American Music Hall.
And Saturday we have Sunn O))) at the Independent, Thee Oh Sees play a free show at Potrero del Sol Park at 8pm, Bay Area based electronic act Tussle performs at Amnesia, TRICLOPS! rips up 924 Gilman in Berkeley, and Frank Black comes to Hotel Utah again.
