Here’s the (late) line-up for this week’s Bay Area shows. A few canceled shows, a few DJ sets, and a gay music festival (no really, Homo A Go Go 2009).
Tonight, indie pop group Casiokids with Slow Club and The Wave Pictures party at the Bottom of the Hill and the Bay Area’s young jazz group, The Jazztronauts hit up Yoshi’s Oakland.
Tuesday, folk punk rockers (think Lawrence Arms) Cobra Skulls and The Copyrights rock out at the Bottom of the Hill and Leilujh, Audrey Howard & The Misters, The Grownup Noise and The Heated play at Hotel Utah.
Wednesday, Bay Area based indie rockers Best Friend with The Actors and Relatives rock out at Kimo’s, Depeche Mode and Peter Bjorn and John crash the Shoreline Amphitheatre, and Barcelona, Seabird, and Meese play at Slim’s. The Magik Markers show at Rickshaw Stop and the Moostache show at Streetlight Records are both canceled.
Thursday, the members of Does It Offend You, Yeah? do a DJ set at Popscene and psychedelic groove act Dominique Leone, Society of Rockets and Reptiel hypnotize the ‘ol Café du Nord.
Friday is the Homo A Go Go 2009, which features ((clears throat)) Girl in a Coma, Mirah, Tender Forever, Tara Jane O’Neil, Lovers, Partyline, katastrophe, Athens Boys Choir, Jenny Hoyston, Sgt. Sass, Tori Fixx, Hunx and his Punx, Amy Kasio, Team Gina, Argyle Miss, The Casual Lust, Dave End, Nomy Lamm, Jeremy Gloff, Jenna Riot, The Younger Lovers, Mon Cousin Belge, Alexander Crumbsnatcher, Pariah Piranha, Yr Heart Breaks, Dorian Wood, MKNG FRNDZ, The Judy Experience, Puce Moment, Madame Morte, Benni E, Lenelle Moïse, Light Leaks, The PiCKUP PATTERN, Kirk Read, Warm Streams, Clint Catalyst, Purple Rhinstone Eagle, D.a.v.O., Krylon Superstar and Rhiannon Argo. The festival will be hosted at SOMArts (934 Brannan St.) and opens it’s doors at 11:00 AM for the festival’s first full day. Go out and gay it up people!
Also going on is Melvins with Down at The Grand Ballroom At the Regency Center, The Rapture do a DJ set at the Rickshaw Stop, and Tussle hits up Amnesia.
Saturday, The Octopus Project and Birds & Batteries crash at the Bottom of the Hill, Lil’ Wayne, Young Jeezy and Drake play the Sleep Train Pavilion in Concord, and DJ duo N.A.S.A. parties it up at the Independent.
