If you are an avid concert goer in the Bay Area, the above picture should be familiar. This my friends, is the Mezzanine; a hot spot for the latest in hip-hop, dance and electronic music. Now every once in a while an epic act will swing by the Mezzanine and completely knock the socks off anyone who dares to attend the show. This week however, is a probably going to be one of the busiest weeks in the venue’s history. You have Simian Mobile Disco playing tonight, MSTRKRFT on Thursday, Busy P on Friday, and FOUR TET on Saturday.
Jeez.
Now don’t think the rest of the venues in the Bay are getting the short end. You’ve got …And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead at Slim’s on Monday, Black Mountain at the Rickshaw Stop and Ellen Allien with Thomas Muller at the Mighty on Friday.
I have a few friends in town this week from the North East so I might have to skip out on these (though I might sneak into the Trail of Dead show).
