It’s always sad to see a band with so much potential split up, especially when their label has no idea how to market the band and ends up throwing them on tour with mediocre emo bands. Codeseven would’ve had a huge fanbase if it wasn’t for just that. However, two bands have spawned from the wreckage. Ex-lead vocalist Jeff Jenkins emerged with the spacey while the rest of the band started the cinematic-rock band with ex-Classic Case vocalist Jared Draughon. Sundrone, however, seems to be the superior of the two. I know comparing a band to Radiohead is kind of dangerous but Sundrone draws obvious influence from them as well as being able to establish their own synthy atmospheric sound. But it’s kind of difficult to determine what Sundrone has in store with only two demo songs up and one Portishead cover. I guess we’ll have to wait and see what’s in store; I know I’m excited…
