Since the fall of Failure back in 1997, it’s been difficult to find a band that can live up to they’re haunting yet rocking legacy. Well it seems as though Austin, Texas’ has come pretty close. With their Pink Floydian spaciness and their willingness to let loose like a rabid version of early Wilco, it may surprise you that a band like this could go by unnoticed. Their latest record, Wild Streaks & Windy Days, is a trippy ride through guitar-god influences and mid-nineties indie rock. Lead vocalist/guitarist Paul Waclawsky channels Ken Andrews and Roger Waters as bassist Jaylinn Davidson and drummer Jake Mitchell provide the sonic landscapes that give The Boxing Lesson their unique sound. Make sure you catch them on their short tour around Texas and the west coast.
