When I wind down at night, I make sure I listen to something that is the musical equivalent of NyQuil. Don’t misinterpret me though, the music isn’t ‘boring.’ But it is slow, ambient, and emotional. Stars of the Lid have been making beautifully crafted records for years and draw influence from Phillip Glass, Morricone, Wagner, and other instrumental composers. This is a unique kind of act that needs special attention to experience their gorgeous soundscapes. The song below is from their latest 2007 release, Stars of the Lid and Their Refinement of the Decline. So make sure you have your headphones ready as well as a pillow.
