Most people know our thoughts on Outside Lands Music Festival over the years. We’ve had our fair share of griping and bitching about their terrible choices but just wind up going anyway and enjoying ourselves. Well it looks as thought Treasure Island Music Festival and Outside Lands have crashed into each other and created a pretty solid line-up of headliners and local love childs.
Muse (yeah I know, but who doesn’t like laser shows?), Black Keys, Arcade Fire, Girl Talk, Decemberists, The Meters, Beirut, The Roots, Little Dragon, Josh Ritter, !!!, Phantogram, STRFKR, Junip, Toro Y Moi, Vetiver, Wye Oak, and Ty Segall. THE SHINS!
Muse (Muse fans….Muse fans ::shutter::), Phish (2 SETS?!?! Are they going to play for 8 hours?), MGMT, Foster the People (Enough already!), Warren Haynes Band (snoooree), and the plethora of Bay Area bands everyone could easily see any time they want! Granted it will make people that haven’t been exposed to the local scene more aware of how amazing it is, I could see Fresh & Onlys, Tamaryn, Stone Foxes, Limousines, and Ty Segall any given month.
I’m pretty content with this, but I’m sure I’ll find something else to complain about in the coming months. So stay tuned for that…
