What? An chillwave act using Super 8 footage for a music video? That’s never happened before. As generic as this video is, the song is pretty tight and a welcome change of pace for Toro Y Moi.

Toro Y Moi – Still Sound (Teen Daze Remix) (2011)

Portland folk rockers The Builders & The Butchers have always been in love with carnival style southern Americana, but this time around it seems to have a flavor of dark gospel thrown in for good measure. Listen to the new track below and be the judge. While you’re doing that, pre-order Dead Reckoning here

And check them out when they come to the Bottom of the Hill on February 12th.

Another folkish group of young men releasing some genuinely new tunes is the Berkeley act Winter’s Fall. After playing a killer show last night with Tape Deck Mountain at the Knockout, the band will follow up with a show in SacTwon (Sacramento) at the Townhouse Lounge with X-Ray Press on January 31st. The band’s latest album, At All Angles, will be released on February 15th with a fun little release party at the Starry Plough in Berkeley with Kissing Cousins and our friends James and Evander.

Check’em out here.
