10. In Bruges – The film hypnotizes you with humor and then blindsides you surprising violence. Super fun!
9. Iron Man – The best superhero films are the ones that make you feel like a child again. Iron Man did exactly that.
8. Burn After Reading – For those who know the Coen Bros. style, this may have been too predictable. However it’s sharp and dark humor and perfect characters saved it.
7. Tell No One – There is no reason why American thrillers cannot be this suspenseful and clever.
6. Man on Wire – A reminder of how important it is to bring joy to people…just because.
5. Religulous – I know I know; some thought it was disrespectful, tasteless, rude, and obnoxious…but that’s kind of why I liked it.
4. Let The Right One In – Horror flicks just don’t get much better. This film about vampires tackles themes of adolescence and identity while still being able to do better than any film trying to focus on just one of those themes.
3. Slumdog Millionaire – Raw storytelling mixed with heartwarming drama make this film simply brilliant for anyone willing to let their guard down. Just go ahead and try not to smile during this movie.
2. Wall-E – This flawless throwback to silent(ish) film is more proof that Pixar is without a doubt the unstoppable force of animated film.
1. The Dark Knight – Well what did you expect? How can you deny that this film is the best of the year? It’s got it all. Action, comedy, drama, suspense, and some cool ass visuals. This film far surpassed my expectations. Now go buy it already!
I still haven’t seen these but i want to…and I advise you to see them as well…
