Jason Haye must have been at the end of his boredom rope to google “5am” at…well, 5 in the morning. But the Gods of Internet Fate had their own path for our young electro-artist. What he found was a the poem of the same title (5am) by Allen Ginsberg that inspired him to put a name to his thoughts. And so came, ; an avant garde onslaught on the senses that comes off like Daedelus crossed with Stars on the Lid. Drawing inspiration from experimental artists both audio (Brian Eno) and visual (Brakhage Maya Deren), Project 5am is best taken with a clear mind and a pair of headphones. His latest album, Quixotes of Moons fights the Windmills of Brixton, is a beautiful and moving piece of work. This is music for audio spacemen.
