Holy Wow! Snob Theater is back again with another magnificent line-up of authentic indie music and alternative stand-up comedy. In case you’re not familiar with Snob Theater, Snob Theater is a one of a kind show that combines performances by today’s best in indie rock with equally feted stand-up comedians. Originating at San Francisco’s Dark Room Theater, Snob Theater creates a magnet for smart and entertaining performances and provides a unique and exciting atmosphere for the lucky audience. Produced and hosted by comedian/music blogger Shawn Robbins (ME!), Snob Theater showcases the comfort of the performers as they take chances in a stripped-down setting.
Performing at this month’s edition of Snob Theater are comedians Ronn Vigh, Matt Gubser, Shanti Charan, and Sal Calanni. Joining them will be the light hearted and aptly named She Beards and the jazzy and sophisticated Indianna Hale.
She Beards

Built on the charming songwriting of Nate Heller and Jon Freeman with the delicate sways of his backing band, emanate a carefree nature of long bike rides, beachside mornings, and expansive imagination. Their latest Sister Song/Creative Control 7” is a 4 track EP that is the perfect San Fran summer record, evoking a sedative, sunny afternoon in Golden Gate Park, yet causing one to reminisce of less worrisome moments. Their music is a sincere tribute to the majesty of great pop music and the healing power of rock and roll. We’re very lucky to have these guys perform at Snob Theater.

Indianna Hale

ethereal voice extends to her indie country and folk sound further into the realms of old-school jazz and country blues. But this is no quaint revivalism; these songs are modern with smart lyrics that carry a whimsical fashion and speak of cheery gatherings with close friends. The arrangements are subtle and sophisticated with the help of Tom Edler on bass and Sean Olmstead on guitar, showing breadth with fewer instruments in the way of her superlative voice. Her singing has such soul and energy that she’s as often compared to Jolie Holland and Billie Holiday. It’s difficult to think of a more compelling young singer-songwriter in the Bay Area right now and we at Snob Theater are grateful to host her talents.
