Favorites of 2011, Featured, Music

So far this year has been quite interesting when it comes to new music. While most of these albums are from bands that I was obsessed with in 2005 (Maritime, One AM Radio, Rival Schools) and bands that were obviously going to deliver impressive follow-up albums (Bon Iver, Destroyer, The Antlers), it was the surprise efforts of SNOWMINE, Other Lives, and Loch Lomond that is making 2011 a year to watch for music. Oh yeah and you can call him overrated or a flash-in-the-pan artist, James Blake is here to stay.

(We still have Björk, Wilco, Portugal. The Man, Beirut, M83, The Shins, etc…it’s going to be a good year)

Nice list! I’m glad to see Loch Lomond n the list – I really enjoyed that one. Plus there are several records on here I haven’t heard yet.

Yeah Loch Lomond is brilliant. Hoping to see them live when they swing by SF again.
