Aquarius Records, one of our favorite record stores and places to visit on Valencia street, is celebrating its 40th birthday party tonight with a show at Cafe Du Nord. he show includes Oakland based duo Date Palms, heavy metal act Dzjenghis Khan, fuzzed and extremely creative San Franciscan quartet Lumerians, our own favorite psych-pop group The Mantles, and super special guest, Best Coast.
If you haven’t already bought tickets, I hate to break it to you but it’s currently sold out. You might be able to snag a couple from some lonely dude at the door, but I doubt it.
However, If you are going, I highly suggest you get there early enough to catch Lumerians. Their hypnotizing and trippy harmonies are hauntingly displayed through their ever so rhythmic soundscapes. The atmosphere created by this band is other worldly and worth listneing to. This will be a mesmorizing and impressive set from the Bay Area group and it would behoove you to witness it first hand tonight at Cafe Du Nord.
